Rugs - How we work

The information below will help you to understand how we hold stock of our various products, and what the implications may be for lead times.

Our Printed Collection, Flip Flatweave and Cotton Flatweave collections are pre-finished to standard sizes.

Our Printed Collection is manufactured right here in Cape Town on small production runs. Finished items are also warehoused in Cape Town once complete.

If an item of the Printed Collection, Flip Flatweave or Cotton Flatweave is available on our website, it means it is available for dispatch from Cape Town immediately.

With all our other ranges, we work a little differently. This includes our Inside Out, Local Inside Out, Robust, Natura and Naturals. Apart from the Local Inside Outs, these ranges are imported from Europe and the East. All ranges are held in raw format and are finished on demand in Cape Town.

With these ranges, we offer standard sizes, as well as the option to customise both the finish and the size of the chosen rug. You can do all of this online here ; we also offer a sample service in these ranges, which is available here

The products are offered as standard sizes and custom size

A standard size is finished with standard overlocking. The online pictures of all rug products in these ranges are using standard overlocking as a finish.

Sisal & Seagrass products cannot be overlocked and must be finished with a binding. In the case of Sisal & Seagrass a standard size is finished with a standard binding option that is both noted in the description of the product and photographed as such.

An item will only be available for sale (standard or custom size) if the corresponding inventory is available in raw format in our warehouse.

We hold limited inventory of finished rugs in these categories so one should allow the same lead time for a standard size as for a custom size - 10-14 working days. If your order is time sensitive, please let us know.

By working in this way, we support a variety of businesses in Cape Town, from large to (very) small, who help us in this finishing process. Where possible we localize production and the jobs it creates.
